ALM 11, 11.52, 12.00, 12.01, 12.20, 12.21, 12.5 Installation with SQL Server 2008 R2 / SQL Server2012


Issue Summary:

When attempting to restart or start the ALM Service on the ALM Server you obtain a failed to start service message. When looking into the logs it will point to be "bad credentials" or authentication error when using a SQL Service account to run the service. 



A common problem/solution to this issue is to have the database administrator go into SQL and make sure that the service account's password is set to "never expire". Even with proper credentials the service will not start if the password is set to expire at some point in the future.
