Issue:
When installing ALM 12.6 MF separated JAVA from the installer package and administrators get an error during installation. After the installation finishes, we receive the error "Failed to set path to java" and the installation fails.
Solution:
1. In the root of the install there is a file called validations.xml
Add the line:
<alm-services enabled="false"/>
before the end tag and save prior to running ALM_installer.exe
2. during the installation, do not specify an account to run the Micro Focus ALM Service - this will make the local system account run the service. After the service is created and started, stop it and change it to use the service account of your choosing.
