Windows 8 OS running UFT 12.0 / UFT 11.53 & connecting to ALM 11 / ALM 11.52 or ALM 12.0

Issue Summary: The first time you connect to ALM via UFT it is necessary to download files from ALM. Regardless of your Windows user profile being in the administrators group or not Windows 8 does not run applications with administrator rights by default.

Failed to update components from server

Failure in Spider Module Process. Error: This type of installation requires that you run Internet Explorer using the 'Run as administrator..' option.

Solution: Run UFT as an administrator by following these steps: Close out of UFT --> ensure that UAC is disabled --> right click UFT and run as administrator
